About Policy

Standard Fire and Special Perils policy provides protection to insured property like building, contents , stock etc. against fire and a series of other perils (like natural perils​​ & man made perils) as specifically mentioned in the poli​​cy.

What's covered?

  • Fire and lightning
  • Explosion/implosion
  • Riot, strike, and malicious damage
  • Air​craft damage
  • ​Bush fire
  • Impact damage
  • Subsidence and landslide including rockslide demolition
  • Bursting/overflowing of water tanks, apparatus, and pipes
  • Missile testing operations
  • Leakage from automatic sprinkler installation excluding loss, destruction, or damage
  • S​torm, cyclone, typhoon, tempest, hurricane, flood and inundation and tornado​.

Following assets can be insured under Standard Fire and Special Perils Policy

  • Building-Both under construction and completed projects & Interiors, partitions, and electrical installation.
  • Plant and Machineries-Both new and second-hand & Obsolete machinery
  • Furniture, Fixtures and Fittings
  • Finished Stock, Raw Material, Stock in process
  • Electronic & Electrical Equipment
  • ​Other Assets like cables, pipelines, household goods, etc.

Eligibility

This policy provides coverage against financial loss or property damage caused by a fire or other covered peril.

Any Indian who is the owner and / or occupant of the housing property located in India can purchase a long term Fire Insurance Policy.

Long term Policies can be issued only to house / flat owners and not to others who do not own the house / flat.

  3. Police FIR / Charge Sheet (notarized copy)
  4. Occupancy certificate (notarized copy)
  5. Fire Brigade report (notarized copy)
  6. Invoices (in case available for contents)
  7. Repair Bills (in original)

Can an entire society or building be covered under Long Term Fire Insurance Policy?

No, entire society building cannot be covered under long term fire insurance policy.
